Woman held after retracting allegation

DIJKOT:

A woman had filed a rape case was arrested after the complaint was found false.

According to the police, the woman had lodged the FIR at the Women Police Station under Section 376 of PPC against a citizen, Abdul Hafeez.

During trial proceedings, she retracted her allegations and gave a statement in favour of the respondent, leading to his acquittal.

Women Police Station SHO Madiha Irshad said the complainant had trapped Abdul Hafeez, extorted money from him, and then cleared him of the allegation in the court.

Following the revelation, the SHO arrested the woman and registered a case against her under the Anti-Rape Act.

Meanwhile, a case have been registered against a man for misconduct with the manager of a health centre.

According to the FIR lodged by Dr Muhammad Ayub, in-charge of a basic health unit, he was performing his duty when stated that while performing his duties when Tariq Fareed, resident of village 558-GB, misbehaved with him, obstructed him from carrying out official work, and then fled.
