Comedian Theo Von has criticised the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) after the agency used a clip of him in a video promoting deportation statistics under President Donald Trump’s administration.
On Tuesday (September 24), DHS shared a 31-second video on X captioned “Bye.” The clip opened with Von saying, “Heard you got deported, dude — bye,” before displaying a claim that two million undocumented immigrants have been deported within the first 250 days of Trump’s second term. The video also featured Trump declaring, “They simply stopped coming. They’re not coming anymore,” and ended with the words “LEAVE NOW” over footage of a plane taking off.

Von, who hosts the podcast This Past Weekend, responded directly by reposting the video with his objection. “Yooo DHS I didn’t approve to be used in this,” he wrote. “I know you know my address so send a check. And please take this down and please keep me out of your ‘banger’ deportation videos.”

He added, “When it comes to immigration my thoughts and heart are a lot more nuanced than this video allows. Bye!” Representatives for DHS have not yet commented on the matter.
Von, 44, has previously hosted a range of guests on his podcast, spanning both political and entertainment figures, including Donald Trump, JD Vance, Bernie Sanders, Mark Cuban, Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, and comedians such as Shane Gillis, Nikki Glaser, and Pete Davidson.
