GTA 5 star Steven Ogg unbothered by GTA 6 hype
Steven Ogg, known globally for his role as Trevor in Grand Theft Auto 5, has said he feels “absolutely nothing” for GTA 6—despite Rockstar touting it as potentially the biggest video game of all time.
The reason? Ogg simply isn’t into gaming.
“I’m not a gamer,” he told YouTuber HarrisonShippp at a recent convention, where he appeared alongside co-stars Ned Luke (Michael) and Shawn "Solo" Fonteno (Franklin). Standing in front of GTA 5 artwork, he added, “I’ve never played a video game, so I feel absolutely nothing inside.”
Ogg went on to compare his indifference to gaming with others’ disinterest in classic literature. “Someone said, ‘You should play GTA 5,’ and I said, ‘Why?’ They said, ‘Because it’s great.’ So I said, ‘Well, one day you should read Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment,’” he quipped. When the interviewer didn’t recognize the author, Ogg used it to underscore his point: books are his passion, not games.
Despite his lack of personal interest in gaming, Ogg has previously spoken about his experience working on GTA 5, including Rockstar’s canceled Trevor-focused DLC. He’s also joked that he’d love a cameo in GTA 6—just to be killed off in the opening, mirroring Trevor’s brutal intro in GTA 5.
As for the rest of us, GTA 6 is slated for release on May 26, 2026—though that date could still shift. In the meantime, fans can revisit the classics, whether that’s GTA 5… or Crime and Punishment.
