Murree targets dengue with awareness drive

RAWALPINDI:

Speakers at a seminar on Saturday called for collective action to curb the spread of dengue in Murree, expressing determination to make the city dengue-free.

The awareness seminar on the anti-dengue campaign was held at the Judicial Complex and chaired by CEO Health, Dr Azhar Mahmood Abbasi. Speakers, including DDHO Dr Nauman, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Engineer Kamran Rashid, and Dengue Focal Person Rana Karamat Ali, highlighted the current challenges posed by rising dengue cases.

During the seminar, dengue kits and awareness pamphlets were distributed among lawyers and participants. The speakers stressed that public cooperation, including that of the legal community, is essential for effective dengue prevention, and that collective efforts are vital to achieving a dengue-free Murree.

Representatives from the Murree Bar Association assured that its members would provide full support to the administration and health authorities in the anti-dengue campaign to ensure a safe and healthy environment for citizens.

Addressing the seminar, Dr Azhar Mahmood Abbasi stated that the district administration's anti-dengue campaign is in full swing. Special teams have been deployed for spraying, larvae elimination, and monitoring in sensitive locations.
