Cardi B’s new album Am I the Drama? has stirred up fresh controversy in hip hop, reigniting her feud with City Girls rapper JT.
On the track “Magnet,” Cardi B takes direct aim at JT, delivering a series of pointed bars referencing her career, style, and relationship with Lil Uzi Vert. The verse quickly went viral, sparking a wave of fan reactions and online debate.
JT wasted little time responding. In a since-deleted post on social media, she clapped back at Cardi with a sharp insult, suggesting the Bronx rapper struggles with hygiene. “Better be quiet before I tell them the real tea. B#### PH balance will fry a whole fish. YUCK. With that one flow lol,” JT wrote.
The feud between Cardi B and JT has been ongoing since 2022, following the release of “Tomorrow 2” and tensions surrounding City Girls. While both artists have traded shots online before, Cardi’s new album appears to escalate the rivalry further.
Cardi B also used the rollout of Am I the Drama? to push back against critics, including Joe Budden, who has questioned her songwriting. She shared behind-the-scenes footage of herself penning the lyrics to “Magnet,” stating she can always prove her authenticity.
Beyond JT, Cardi continues to call out other artists, targeting BIA on the track “Pretty & Petty.” Industry projections suggest Am I the Drama? will debut with 95,000 to 105,000 album-equivalent units, making it one of the strongest openings for a female rapper in 2025.
