Dark Horse Comics has officially announced Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome, a new limited comic series set to launch in January 2026. Expanding the world of CD Projekt Red’s role-playing game, the series will mark the thirteenth comic instalment tied to the franchise’s canon.

The four-issue run is led by writer Doug Wagner and artist Tommaso Bennato. According to the announcement, Chrome will differ from previous Cyberpunk 2077 comics by incorporating classic horror elements into its narrative.

The story follows a group of friends — including a netrunner, a graffiti artist, an aspiring rockerboy, and an autotechie — who set out for a photoshoot at a landfill. Rumours suggest the location is haunted, but what they discover is described as far more dangerous than ghosts.

Dark Horse confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome will be the first slasher-themed story set in Night City, moving away from depictions of violence tied solely to financial gain. This direction represents a distinct approach within the established lore of the franchise.

The new series follows previous titles such as Cyberpunk 2077: XOXO, which centred on rival gangs and a storyline likened to Shakespearean tragedy.

Each series has contributed to the broader canon of the game’s universe, with past releases later collected into complete editions. While details of a collected volume for Chrome have not yet been shared, similar treatment is considered likely based on prior runs.

The first issue of Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome will be released on January 16 2026, with subsequent issues to follow at dates yet to be specified.
