TV personality Vicky Pattison revealed she was involved in a frightening car accident on the M25, just hours before the launch of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. The Geordie Shore star, who is among the celebrity contestants on the BBC dance competition, shared details of the incident on social media on Thursday.
According to Pattison, a lorry swerved into her car while she was driving on the M25 motorway, causing her vehicle to be pushed off the road. She posted a photo from the scene, showing a distressed selfie and an image of the lorry involved. “Never a dull moment... A lorry just swerved into my car on the M25 and pushed us off the road,” she wrote. She added that no one was injured, and traffic officers had arrived to assist. “Crikey… it was a bit intense. Wear your seatbelts, kids,” she advised.

The incident occurred just three hours after Pattison had posted a cheerful photo heading to rehearsals, captioning it: “What a beautiful day to butcher some dance moves…”
Pattison, 37, has openly discussed her nerves ahead of joining Strictly, admitting that stepping outside of her comfort zone has been emotionally overwhelming. Speaking to MailOnline, she shared that she had recently cried in the bath after training and is feeling the weight of expectations. “I'm just out of my comfort zone and it's really scary… I’ve wanted to do this show for so long,” she said. “You're asking me in my nearly 40s to do something I’ve never done before on a massive stage.”
In 2023, Pattison was diagnosed with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a condition that intensifies anxiety, fatigue, and emotional distress — factors that could impact her experience on the show.
Despite the challenges, Pattison remains committed and praised her professional dance partner, whose identity will be revealed during the show’s premiere. “He’s kind, measured, patient and supportive,” she said.
Strictly Come Dancing launches Saturday night on BBC, with judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke returning to the panel.
