Los Angeles authorities confirmed this week that the body discovered in a Tesla registered to singer David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, belonged to 15-year-old Celeste Rivas. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified Rivas on Wednesday, noting her remains had been in the vehicle “for an extended period of time.” Police are treating the case as a homicide, according to TMZ.

The same day, a leaked demo by D4vd titled Celeste began circulating online. The nearly four-minute track includes unsettling lyrics such as, “Be my valentine / I wanna make you be suicidal,” and “Oh, Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest / Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes.” While the song’s origin remains unclear, social media users suggested it had been shared on Discord servers before spreading more widely.

Rivas’s mother told TMZ her daughter, who went missing in April 2024, had been dating someone named David. Both Rivas and D4vd also reportedly had “Shhh…” tattoos on their right index fingers, though the design is common among celebrities. It has not been confirmed whether the victim and the artist had a personal connection.

Authorities said Rivas’s body was found earlier this month in the front trunk of the Tesla, which had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills and later impounded. D4vd has reportedly not been in Los Angeles for more than a month, and investigators have not identified any suspects.

The leaked track emerged just hours before D4vd canceled his scheduled performance in Seattle, part of his Withered World Tour. The North American leg of the tour is set to end in Los Angeles on September 20, with European dates scheduled to begin in October. It is unclear if those shows will proceed.
