Pusha T and No Malice, known collectively as Clipse, made history on September 13 by becoming the first rap act to perform at the Vatican.
The Virginia Beach brothers appeared at St. Peter’s Square as part of 'Grace for the World', a global concert co-directed by Pharrell Williams and Andrea Bocelli, streamed live on Disney+, Hulu and ABC News Live.
The duo performed an orchestra-backed version of “The Birds Don’t Sing” from their latest album Let God Sort Em Out. They were joined on stage by John Legend and a full ensemble, creating a performance that highlighted themes of reflection, transformation and spirituality.
Footage showed the brothers in matching black suits, delivering their lyrics against choral and orchestral arrangements.
Fans described the event as a landmark moment for hip hop, with one comment noting, “Dam, brothers performing together at the Vatican in memory of their parents. It doesn’t get any bigger or better as men and as artists.” Another praised, “Absolutely beautiful. This is exactly what we needed at a time like this. Well done to King Push, No Malice, and John Legend!”
Many also tied the moment to the success of their new project.
'Grace for the World' was staged as a free concert to mark the closing of the 2025 World Meeting on Human Fraternity and the Jubilee Year.
The lineup featured Karol G, Jennifer Hudson, Teddy Swims, Jelly Roll and Angélique Kidjo alongside Pharrell, Bocelli and Legend.
