Nintendo has announced a major update for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, revealing new Mega Evolutions and additional downloadable content titled Mega Dimension.
The news was shared during the latest Nintendo Direct and includes new forms, story content, and gameplay features for players on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
Three new Mega Evolutions have been confirmed for Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja. First introduced in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, these Pokémon will now gain access to Mega Evolution through exclusive Mega Stones. Chesnaughtite, Delphoxite, and Greninjite can be obtained from the Z-A Battle Club.
Ranked Battles in the game provide three reward types: immediate battle rewards, promotion rewards for achieving higher ranks, and seasonal rewards distributed at the end of each competitive season.
Alongside these additions, Nintendo announced the Mega Dimension DLC, which expands the Lumiose City storyline after the main campaign. Trainers will continue their encounters with Team MZ, while the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa plays a central role in the narrative. Hoopa’s ability to warp space through its rings will introduce spatial distortions across Lumiose, offering players new challenges and discoveries within the city.
The Mega Dimension content also introduces two new Mega Evolutions: Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y. Mega Raichu X uses electromagnetism to float and channels electricity into its fists for powerful attacks, while Mega Raichu Y focuses on speed, striking with amplified electrical energy. Each form requires its own unique Mega Stone to activate.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its Mega Dimension DLC are set to expand the franchise’s approach to Mega Evolution and narrative-driven content, with more details expected ahead of the 2026 release.
