Jayden Daniels’ mother, Regina Daniels, drew attention on Thursday night when she was seen chatting with Amazon Prime reporter Taylor Rooks before the Washington Commanders faced the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
The two greeted each other warmly on the sidelines, sharing laughs ahead of the Week 2 matchup.
Fans quickly reacted online to the lighthearted exchange, with some jokingly referencing Rooks’ recent marriage. “Too late Regina, Taylor’s off the market,” one user tweeted, while another added, “Of course she’s there.” Others speculated about the dynamic, with comments such as, “Had to ask permission to interview her son,” and “She is politely telling her to stay away from her son.”
Rooks previously interviewed Daniels before the season began, where the Commanders quarterback discussed his goals after being named Rookie of the Year in 2024. Some fans suggested Regina, known for being protective of her son, was more at ease with the interaction now that Rooks is married.
On the field, Washington suffered its first defeat of the 2025 season, falling 27-18 to Green Bay. Daniels completed 24 of 42 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns, but the effort was not enough to overcome the Packers’ strong performance. The loss followed Washington’s opening week victory over the New York Giants, leaving the Commanders 1-1 on the season.
Looking ahead, Daniels and the Commanders will try to bounce back in Week 3 when they face the Las Vegas Raiders, while Rooks and the Amazon Prime Thursday Night Football crew move on to cover the Miami Dolphins’ clash against the Buffalo Bills.
