Prince Harry has met King Charles III in London, marking their first face-to-face reunion in more than a year.
The Duke of Sussex was seen arriving at Clarence House on Wednesday afternoon, where Buckingham Palace confirmed the King hosted a private tea with his son.
The meeting, which lasted around 50 minutes, comes after months of speculation about whether Harry would reconnect with his father during his latest UK trip for charity events. When asked about the King’s health afterwards, Harry told reporters: “Yes, he’s great.”
The reunion is being viewed as a significant step toward reconciliation within the royal family, following years of tension. Their last meeting took place in February 2024, shortly after the King’s cancer diagnosis. Since then, Harry has visited the UK several times for legal proceedings and charity work but had not seen his father until now.
The King travelled from Balmoral to London earlier in the day for the meeting. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and the couple’s children remained in California, with Harry expected to return to the US on Thursday.
In May, Harry publicly expressed his wish for “reconciliation” with his family during a BBC interview, admitting he wanted to rebuild relationships. Reports of a potential “peace summit” between royal representatives in July had fueled speculation of an eventual reunion.
Despite this progress, there were no signs of Harry meeting his brother Prince William during the visit. On Monday, Harry laid a wreath at Queen Elizabeth II’s grave, while William and Catherine attended a separate event nearby.
The private father-son meeting signals renewed efforts to bridge the royal divide, though further steps remain uncertain.
