Hilary Duff has officially confirmed her return to music after more than a decade away from the recording studio.

The singer and actress has signed a new deal with Atlantic Records and will document her comeback in an upcoming docuseries.

Duff sparked excitement after posting casual studio photos on Instagram with the caption, “New music … or something.” Fans quickly flooded the comments with references to her Disney Channel era, including quotes from her famous track “This Is What Dreams Are Made Of.” Streaming platform Disney+ even joined in with a playful response.

Variety reports that the multi-part docuseries will chronicle Duff’s journey back to music, including studio sessions, rehearsals, family life, and preparations for her first live performance in over 10 years. The project will be directed by Sam Wrench, known for high-profile concert films with artists such as Taylor Swift.

The announcement follows Duff’s August 27 Instagram post marking the 22nd anniversary of her breakthrough album Metamorphosis. In her reflection, she thanked fans for their support and hinted that new music was on the way.

Duff has spoken openly about her desire to use music as a way to redefine herself beyond her iconic Lizzie McGuire role. In a 2023 podcast appearance, she admitted that while the Disney series shaped her career, she wanted music to be a way of “reintroducing” herself.

With her Atlantic Records partnership and cameras documenting the process, Hilary Duff’s return marks one of the most highly anticipated pop comebacks of 2025. Fans can expect both new songs and a behind-the-scenes look at her evolution as an artist.
