On Starfield's second anniversary, Bethesda dropped a cryptic teaser that’s reignited excitement — and intense speculation — among its fans. A celebratory video shared on social media quickly turned mysterious, with glitched visuals and altered music revealing a hidden message: “Terran Armada.”
The discovery, made by eagle-eyed fans who rearranged video frames, has sparked theories across the community. Many believe Terran Armada could be the long-awaited second DLC, potentially exploring Earth or factions connected to its downfall. Ideas range from generation ships returning to a ruined Earth to a new enemy faction of Terran survivors evoking Mad Max vibes.
In Starfield’s lore, Earth became a lifeless wasteland after its magnetosphere collapsed in 2203 — a side effect of the Grav Drive’s invention. The planet now lies abandoned, exposed to radiation and geological chaos. A return to this setting could offer a darker, more grounded narrative.
However, some speculate Terran Armada might not be DLC at all, but a smaller update meant to bridge the gap before the next major expansion.
Bethesda has remained tight-lipped, offering only vague hints. In a recent video, veteran developer Tim Lamb confirmed work is ongoing on a new DLC story and improvements to space gameplay, promising updates fans have “been asking for,” along with “new game systems” and creator-made content.
Still, the wait continues. After the lukewarm reception to 2024’s Shattered Space DLC and news that the PS5 port and next expansion might not arrive until 2026, fans are growing restless.
“We’re beyond starved at this point,” wrote one redditor. “Next trailer or update is gonna hit us like a nuke.”
