Jonathan Bailey, best known for his work in Jurassic World Rebirth, Wicked, and Bridgerton, has announced he will be taking a break from acting next year to concentrate on his LGBTQ+ charity, The Shameless Fund.
The 37-year-old revealed the news in a new interview published in British GQ earlier this week.
Bailey explained that after years of back-to-back projects, including his global blockbuster appearance and a demanding stage run, as well as wrapping up his work on Wicked: For Good, he needs to refocus his energy.
“I’ve been working solidly for about three years now,” he told GQ, “but with everything happening in the world right now, I’m going to stop acting for a bit next year and just focus on The Shameless Fund.”
The Shameless Fund, launched in mid-2024, supports LGBTQ+ causes through creative and meaningful brand collaborations.
Bailey highlighted that the organization’s upcoming priorities include expanding its team and growing its reach through partnerships like one with Cubitts eyewear, known for their limited-edition pink-framed glasses, and a prior collaboration with fashion brand Loewe.
Bailey is stepping away from Jurassic World Rebirth and his performance tour of Richard II with remarkable dedication, signaling a shift toward social impact over screen time.
