Orlando Bloom has spoken publicly for the first time about his breakup with Katy Perry, more than two months after the pair called off their engagement.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star shared how he and the pop icon are moving forward while continuing to co-parent their 5-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
“I’m great,” Bloom, 47, said during an interview on the Today show on September 5. “I’m so grateful. We’ve got a beautiful daughter… It’s nothing but love.” Despite ending their nine-year relationship, Bloom emphasized that their bond remains positive, adding, “We’re gonna be great.”
While Perry has not directly addressed the split, she has continued her Lifetimes Tour, recently interacting with fans on stage and maintaining her signature upbeat energy. The singer, 40, shares Daisy with Bloom, who also has a 14-year-old son, Flynn, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
A representative for the former couple previously confirmed in July that Bloom and Perry had been gradually shifting their relationship toward co-parenting. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect,” the statement read.
This is not the first time Bloom and Perry have taken time apart. The pair previously split in 2017 before reuniting the following year. They became engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019 and welcomed Daisy in 2020.
Despite their separation, both stars remain committed to providing a supportive environment for their daughter, highlighting family as their top priority.
