LEGO has officially revealed its long-rumoured Star Wars Death Star set, and it’s one of the most ambitious (and expensive) builds yet. Part of the Ultimate Collector Series, the LEGO Star Wars Death Star (Set 75419) contains 9,023 pieces and a staggering 38 minifigures—all for a jaw-dropping $999.99.
The set launches October 1 for LEGO Insiders and becomes available to everyone on October 4.
Unlike previous sphere-shaped Death Star builds, this one features a half-sphere design with an open side that exposes detailed cross-sections of iconic scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy. Fans will recognize locations like the trash compactor from A New Hope, the throne room from Return of the Jedi, and the room where Darth Vader faces Obi-Wan.
Also included are the communications room where Han Solo impersonates a stormtrooper, and the Imperial conference room where planet-destroying plans are discussed.
The minifigure lineup is massive and includes classics like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, R2-D2, C-3PO, Stormtroopers, Red Guards, and various Imperial officers.
With its incredible attention to detail and extensive minifigure selection, this Death Star is both a collector’s dream and a display centerpiece—if you can afford the steep price tag.
