Lady Gaga left Miami concertgoers stunned when she cancelled her highly anticipated Mayhem Ball performance at the last moment. The 39-year-old singer announced the decision just before the show was set to begin, citing a severe strain on her voice.
Posting a heartfelt note on her Instagram stories, Gaga explained that rehearsals the night before and vocal warmups on the day of the concert had pushed her voice to its limits. Her doctor and vocal coach strongly advised her against going through with the performance, warning of the potential long-term damage she could risk if she ignored their guidance.
"I am really so, so sorry but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami," Gaga wrote. "I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you but I don’t want to risk long-term or permanent damage to my vocal cords."
She described the choice as "hard and agonising," adding that she takes meticulous care of her health to meet the demands of her tour. Despite her efforts, she admitted this was a situation she could not avoid. Gaga promised fans that the show will be rescheduled as quickly as possible, though no new date has yet been announced.
The Miami concert was part of Gaga’s ambitious Mayhem Ball world tour, which launched in July 2025 to support her album, Mayhem. Spanning 63 dates across the globe, the tour is expected to wrap up in Japan at the end of January 2026. The sudden postponement marks a rare disruption in what has otherwise been one of the most talked-about pop tours of the year.
Fans quickly took to social media to share their disappointment, with many expressing heartbreak at the last-minute announcement after travelling and waiting in line for hours. Others offered words of encouragement, praising Gaga for prioritising her health and long-term career.
For Gaga, who has built a reputation for her high-energy live shows and loyal fan base, the Miami setback may prove to be only a temporary pause. Her message closed with reassurance that she is eager to return to the stage once her voice is ready, reminding fans that she will make it up to them.
