Taylor Swift’s upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl has already set a new milestone on Spotify weeks before its official release.
On August 31, the streaming platform confirmed that Swift’s 12th studio record had become the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history.
The achievement surpasses the previous record set in 2024 by her eleventh album The Tortured Poets Department. The announcement was made through Spotify’s official Instagram and X accounts.
The Countdown Page for The Life of a Showgirl went live on August 14, featuring an exclusive playlist titled And, baby, that’s show business for you.
The 22-track collection includes previously released songs produced by Swift’s long-time collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, both of whom have returned to produce the new album.
This latest record continues Swift’s dominance on the platform, following her recognition as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of 2024 with more than 26.6 billion global streams.
Swift revealed The Life of a Showgirl on 12 August during an appearance on New Heights, the podcast hosted by her fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce. A teaser clip of the announcement was posted on the programme’s social media accounts ahead of the full episode.
The album, scheduled for release on October 3 2025, will feature 12 new tracks. It follows just over a year after The Tortured Poets Department, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in April 2024.
That record achieved the biggest opening week of her career, spent 17 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the chart, and secured her a seventh Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.
With her latest project already breaking streaming records before launch, The Life of a Showgirl is set to mark another major chapter in Swift’s career.
