Model Hana Mayeda, girlfriend of singer-songwriter Hozier, has spoken out after screenshots claiming to show her endorsing controversial views began circulating online. The viral images appeared to depict Mayeda liking or commenting on posts that included pro-Israel statements, anti-vaccine claims, anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric, racist remarks, and pro-Donald Trump content. Some also suggested she opposed teaching children about gender identity and expressed views against illegal immigration.

The screenshots began spreading widely on August 31, 2025, with more than two dozen images shared across social platforms. In response, Mayeda posted an Instagram story Monday denying their authenticity. “The posts, likes, and comments attributed to me that have been circulating in the past hours are demonstrably fabricated,” she wrote, adding that they were intended to damage her reputation, her relationship, and Hozier’s public messaging.

Mayeda stated that she fully supports trans rights and “justice, freedom and liberation for the Palestinian people.” She also rejected the association of her name with anti-immigrant views, noting that as the daughter of immigrants, such rhetoric was “abhorrent.” She urged social media users to use their voices to spread positivity rather than misinformation and hate.

Hozier has not commented publicly on the recent allegations. Previously, however, he defended Mayeda online, asking fans to respect their privacy. The couple confirmed their relationship in July 2023 and made their red-carpet debut at the TIME 100 Gala in April 2025.

This is not the first time Mayeda has faced online scrutiny. In 2024, she apologized for cultural appropriation after photos from her 2019 bridal party showed her burning desert sage, an Indigenous practice. She later deleted her Pinterest account, which contained Native American-themed content, and acknowledged the criticism.
