A man was shot dead in Pattoki's Mohalla Purani Mandi, Muzzamil Bazaar, after four armed men stormed into his home, police said on Monday.

Police registered a case at City Police Station on the complaint of the victim's son. The FIR names four suspects, including one unidentified man.

According to the FIR, the assailants violated the sanctity of the home, attacked Sajad, and assaulted him.

The victim's son said, "The accused and my father worked together. When my father took sick leave, they pressured him to return. On refusing, they kept beating him, and Zain fired a shot that hit my father near the neck."

The son added, "The accused killed my father without reason and by mutual intent. They should be given exemplary punishment."

After the shooting, the suspects fled while brandishing their weapons. Sajad was rushed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Pattoki and later referred to Lahore in critical condition.
