Christa B. Allen has revealed that she left a cult after ending a relationship with its leader.
The 33-year-old actress, known for her role in 13 Going on 30 and for playing Charlotte Grayson in Revenge, shared her story in a TikTok video last week.
In the clip, Allen was seen spinning on a lawn to the song "Subway" by Chappell Roan with the lyrics “She got away” playing. Across the video she wrote, “How it feels rebuilding your life after being in love with a charismatic wealthy cult leader who burned it to the ground.”
@christaallen let me be very clear: nobody can burn down your life unless you give them access to it. that’s the part I’ve had to own. so I’ve sat with the hardest questions: why did I trust him? why did I hand over my power? why did I silence my own inner knowing? the truth is, he was selling fairytales and from luxurious penthouses and private jets, I foolishly bought in. what I learned is that even if you spend every waking moment with someone— studying, eating, traveling, working, building, dreaming— you still may not KNOW them. especially when you’re dealing with someone who lies as easily as they breathe. that realization shattered me, but it also forced me to rebuild from the ground up. and fire is also cleansing. one day I’ll share the full story, but for now I’m walking forward with feet on solid ground and a heart that knows its strength ❤️🔥

In her caption, Allen explained, “Let me be very clear: nobody can burn down your life unless you give them access to it. That’s the part I’ve had to own.” She described asking herself why she trusted her former partner and “handed over” her power, adding, “The truth is, he was selling fairytales and from luxurious penthouses and private jets, I foolishly bought in.”
Allen said the realisation left her shattered but gave her the strength to rebuild. “Fire is also cleansing,” she noted, promising that she would share more of her story in time.
Earlier in August, Allen appeared to refer to the same relationship in another TikTok post where she suggested her ex had pressured her to quit her job before leaving her without income.
She concluded by telling followers she is now moving forward “with feet on solid ground and a heart that knows its strength.”
