NBA YoungBoy is pairing his music with community impact as he kicks off his Make America Slime Again Tour in Dallas. Hours before opening night at the American Airlines Center on September 1, the Baton Rouge rapper donated $50,000 to two Dallas-based nonprofits focused on justice and community transformation.

Half of the contribution went to Manifest Freedom, an organization founded by attorney Brittany K. Barnett. The nonprofit provides resources to entrepreneurs and creatives affected by incarceration, including Fort Worth’s Sotelo Brothers, who were granted clemency under President Donald Trump and now operate their family-owned restaurant, Tia’s on the Bluff.

The remaining $25,000 was given to Urban Specialists, a national group dedicated to reducing violence, training community leaders, and creating safer neighborhoods.

For YoungBoy, the gesture underscored his intention to start the MASA Tour with meaning. “I just want to start this tour on something real,” he said. “This is bigger than music—it’s about peace, growth, and giving people a real chance to change their lives.”

The 24-year-old artist, who has built one of rap’s largest streaming audiences, is embarking on his first nationwide arena run. The tour features Offset, No Cap, DeeBaby, and Mellow Rackz, and expands his reach beyond music into civic engagement.

By linking his debut Dallas shows to grassroots philanthropy, YoungBoy signals a shift in focus toward legacy. His decision reframes success, positioning hip-hop not only as entertainment but also as a catalyst for social change.
