
The education of children of flood-affected families residing in relief camps is continuing.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif interacted with the children in a classroom and gave them prizes during her visit to a relief camp set up in Kasur for women.
She asked the displaced women about their problems and also visited patients in a temporary hospital.
The chief minister was informed that rescue teams had shifted the residents of flood-affected areas to the relief camp.
Officials said 29 villages in Kasur district had been affected by the flood , while 18,300 residents had been evacuated and 36,129 rescued along with livestock.
The relief camp is housing people displaced from Dhup Sari, Mboke, Ola Nagar, Aiman Pura, Mai Wala, Fati Wala and several other areas. They were evacuated from the affected areas in boats and transferred to the relief camp in vehicles. At least 60 families comprising 312 people are residing in the camp.
A vast playground, three doctors and medical staff are available round the clock for the flood victims. The officials said 170 people had so far benefited from treatment facilities in the flood relief medical camp.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also visited Talwar Post in the border area during heavy rain to inspect a newly-established relief camp in Sheikh Pura area of Kasur.
She welcomed affected families who arrived by boat from the flood-hit area of Gatti Kalingar. Two rafts carrying 55 cattle head and a family along with a tractor, a motorcycle rickshaw and other items also arrived at the camp during the chief minister's visit.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was informed in another briefing that forest department officials were also engaged in relief operations in remote areas of the province to help flood victims.
The wildlife force is also active in Badumalhi area of Narowal to rescue the victims.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz witnessed a demonstration of thermal drone surveillance during her visit to Talwar Post. She operated a thermal drone and watched its video.
