A new original story is on the way from Walt Disney Animation Studios. During Destination D23 in Orlando, chief creative officer Jared Bush revealed the studio’s next feature film, titled Hexed.

According to its logline, Disney’s Hexed follows an awkward teenage boy and his highly organised mother, who soon discover that his unusual traits are linked to magical powers. These powers will reshape both their lives and open a gateway to a hidden world of magic.

The film will be directed by Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand, with Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones serving as producers. Hexed is scheduled for release in cinemas in November 2026.

Alongside this unveiling, Pixar celebrated the 30th anniversary of Toy Story with a special re-release on September 12, while also confirming Toy Story 5 for June 19, 2026. The film introduces a new generation of tech toys, with Lilypad – an iPad in a frog-themed case – as the main villain.

Conan O’Brien joins the cast as Smarty Pants, while Andrew Stanton directs with Kenna Harris and Jessica Choi. Pixar also previewed Hoppers, due March 6, 2026, a comedy about a student and her robotic beaver, and confirmed development of The Incredibles 3.

Marvel Studios shared an update on Avengers: Doomsday with a message from the Russo Brothers and Paul Rudd on set, confirming production has begun. Blue Sky Studios announced Ice Age: Boiling Point for February 5, 2027, while Zootopia 2, releasing November 26, 2025, introduced new cast members Patrick Warburton, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ke Huy Quan, Quinta Brunson, Fortune Feimster and returning star Shakira.

Additional highlights included TRON: Ares, releasing October 10, 2025 with a Nine Inch Nails score, alongside a 4K Ultra HD release of the original TRON films, and Disney+’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw premiering December 5.
