KARACHI:

A police head constable was martyred in a targeted attack by motorcycle-borne terrorists in Bin Qasim's Pipri area. The deceased officer, a father of nine children, was assigned to Shah Latif Town police station.

The incident comes after another police officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Khan Abro, was killed in a similar attack on August 18 in Bin Qasim Town.

SHO Bin Qasim, Faisal Rafiq, revealed the identity of the martyred officer as Head Constable Matiro Khan, who was heading home after finishing his duty when the assailants opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

They then fled the scene. Meanwhile, SSP Malir, Abdul Khaliq, confirmed that three terrorists chased Khan, and gunned him down.

Three 9mm pistol shells were recovered from the scene.
