Luis Guzmán has sparked discussion after an unexpected remark about Jennifer Lopez during his appearance on Hot Ones with his Wednesday co-stars Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Georgie Farmer and Joy Sunday.

In the episode, Myers asked Guzmán to describe former collaborators with one word. When names such as Adam Sandler and Catherine Zeta-Jones were mentioned, he replied “amazing” and “bellísima.”

However, when Jennifer Lopez’s name came up, Guzmán shrugged and simply said, “OK.” His reaction drew laughter and surprise from his fellow panellists, with Sunday gasping and Ortega and Myers bursting into laughter.

Guzmán, who played Chino opposite Lopez’s Karen Sisco in the 1998 film Out of Sight, offered no further explanation for his blunt response. Instead, Myers quickly pivoted and asked him to describe Ortega, to which he responded with praise, calling her a “prodigy” and mouthing, “Love you.”

While Lopez, has not commented on the remark, fans quickly shared their reactions online, describing Guzmán’s bluntness as “hilarious,”

The exchange has resurfaced conversations about Lopez’s own history of candid comments. In 1998, the same year Out of Sight was released, Lopez made headlines after remarks about several A-list actresses.

She later said she had been misquoted and taken out of context, explaining in 2001 that she “never wanted to hurt anybody.”
