September will bring a major update for Chainsaw Man fans, with three new films scheduled for release. Ahead of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, which premieres in Japan later in the month, two compilation films will debut on September 5.
Titled Chainsaw Man – The Compilation Parts 1 and 2, the two films will provide a recap of Season 1, highlighting its most significant arcs and animation sequences.
Crunchyroll’s synopsis confirms that Part 1 will revisit Denji’s early struggles as a Devil Hunter, his transformation into Chainsaw Man, and his battle with the Zombie Devil.
Part 2 will follow the Eternity Devil Arc, focusing on Denji’s chaotic battle style and the fallout from the fight, including Himeno’s promised kiss. The film is also expected to cover later confrontations with Katana Man and showcase Makima’s first demonstration of her abilities.
Both films will be available in Japan on ABEMA and internationally through Crunchyroll. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will then follow on October 29 in the United States after its Japanese release earlier in September.
In addition to recapping Season 1, the compilation films will include Chainsaw Days, a new anime project adapting the bonus chapters from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga. Unlike the darker main storyline, Chainsaw Days adopts a lighter, comedic tone, presenting short vignettes with Denji, Aki, Power, Himeno, and Pochita.
Promotional stills reveal moments such as Denji’s life with Pochita and Himeno cutting Aki’s hair, offering fans a new perspective on familiar characters.
By combining Season 1 highlights with original comedic material, the compilation films aim to prepare audiences for Reze Arc while expanding the anime’s reach.
