
The Summer I Turned Pretty has issued a fresh warning to fans about online behaviour as criticism of Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah Fisher, intensifies.
Ahead of the latest episode, Prime Video’s official accounts reminded followers of its stance on bullying and harassment and to "keep the conversation kind this summer".
A social media post outlined the show’s “community guidelines,” stating, “We have a ZERO tolerance policy for bullying and hate speech.” The message warned that anyone harassing cast, crew or fellow viewers could be banned.

The team also emphasised that, “The show isn’t real but the people playing the characters are,” alongside an image declaring “The Summer We Started Acting Normal Online.”

While no direct explanation was offered, the reminder follows weeks of online hostility towards Casalegno.
The 25-year-old actor admitted in an interview with the New York Times that the backlash had become overwhelming.
The fandom remains sharply divided between Team Jeremiah and Team Conrad (Chris Briney), both vying for Isabel “Belly” Conklin’s affection, played by Lola Tung.
