Education boards across the province have announced a steep rise in registration fees for the new Class IX session (2025-27), alongside the release of a revised registration schedule.
All nine education boards of the province, including the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), will conduct online registration between August 28 and September 18.
The total fee for new registration has been increased to Rs4,650, while the re-admission (re-registration) fee has been set at Rs2,025. A newly introduced special fee of Rs2,000 has sparked strong criticism from parents.
The revised registration fee structure comprises Rs1,000 as registration fee, Rs500 as processing fee, Rs200 as sports fee, Rs150 as scholarship fund, Rs200 as development fund, Rs2,000 for late registration, and Rs2,000 as special fee. The special fee, however, doesn't apply to re-admissions.
Both government and private schools are required to register students according to this schedule. For registration, students must provide three passport-sized photographs, a copy of their parents' CNIC, and a copy of the B-Form.
In addition to online registration, schools are also obliged to submit hard copies of students' registration forms.
