Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has been announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live, revealing an open-world Gotham where players can drive the Batmobile.
The title is in development by TT Games, the studio behind Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The game incorporates characters and storylines from across Batman’s history in comics and film, with combat reminiscent of the Batman Arkham series. Actor Matt Berry has been confirmed to voice Bane.
“Whether he’s the wrathful Dark Knight, the brilliant detective, or the unlikely father of the ‘Batfam,’ Batman has constantly evolved — shaped by the world around him while remaining a timeless symbol,” said Jim Lee, President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer of DC.
“This game brings together nearly every facet of his legacy, letting you experience the full range of what makes Batman iconic. Built with incredible care, creativity, and deep respect for the mythos, TT Games has crafted a love letter to the world of Batman.”
The story begins with a young Bruce Wayne training a new group of League of Shadows members. Along the way, he is joined by Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. Villains include The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane.
Between 2005 and 2022, TT Games released over 20 Lego titles, spanning DC, Marvel, Harry Potter, and Star Wars, as well as projects like Lego Dimensions and Lego Worlds.
Legacy of the Dark Knight arrives after a three-year gap since Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, during a period when Lego collaborations have expanded across multiple developers and into games such as Fortnite.
The release date for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has not yet been announced.
