Regina Hall and Anna Faris are officially reprising their roles as Brenda and Cindy in the upcoming Scary Movie reboot, according to Deadline. The comedy duo will reunite with Keenen, Shawn, and Marlon Wayans as the iconic spoof franchise gears up for its sixth installment.

“We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon — three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again),” Hall and Faris shared in a joint statement.

Their return comes as the Wayans Brothers team up for the first time in 18 years to co-write a new original script with Rick Alvarez for Miramax. Filming is scheduled to begin in October 2025, with Paramount handling a June 12, 2026 global theatrical release. Miramax currently holds a first-look deal with Paramount.

Since its debut in 2000, the Scary Movie franchise has grossed nearly $900 million worldwide. The original film broke records at the time, setting a then–R-rated horror opening weekend record with $42.5 million. This new installment will be directed by Michael Tiddes, a longtime Wayans collaborator known for A Haunted House, Naked, and Sextuplets. Keenen Ivory Wayans will return as a producer, alongside Marlon and Shawn, who starred in and co-wrote the first two films.

Hall’s upcoming projects include Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another with Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Benicio Del Toro, slated for release on September 26. She is also starring in Judgment Day with Will Ferrell and Zac Efron, and lending her voice to The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants.

Faris, meanwhile, will next appear in Spa Weekend. Following her breakout in Scary Movie, she went on to star in The House Bunny, Overboard, and the long-running sitcom Mom. She is also the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir Unqualified.
