
Between August 1 and 13, the Sindh Sports Department organised 160 sports events across 30 districts in the province as part of the "Marka-e-Haq" initiative, held in connection with Independence Day celebrations. The events saw widespread participation from athletes of all genders, with competitions taking place in all six administrative divisions of Sindh.
According to a spokesperson for the sports department, winning athletes from across the province, including Karachi, were awarded medals, trophies, and certificates. In addition, cash prizes totaling more than Rs 10 million and over 10,000 shirts were distributed among participants. Competitions featured marathons, cycling, donkey cart races, chess, kabaddi, tug-of-war, taekwondo, volleyball, gilli danda, table tennis, throwball, futsal, football, shooting ball, archery, hockey, ring ball, wheelchair races, wheelchair cricket, snooker, malakhra, boxing, and many others.
In Karachi, the events were inaugurated by Sindh Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, Secretary Sports Manoor Ali Mahisar, and Additional Secretary Asad Ishaq. In other districts, government representatives, mayors, local body officials, district chairpersons, commissioners, deputy commissioners, senior officers from the Pakistan Army, and police officials participated in and inaugurated the events.
