Zoë Kravitz has revealed an unusual mishap that occurred while she was staying at Taylor Swift’s Los Angeles home earlier this year during the city’s wildfires.
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers on August 12, the actress explained that Swift had offered her and her mother, Lisa Bonet, a place to stay for two weeks.
Kravitz said Bonet had brought her pet snake, named Orpheus, to the property. On the last day of her stay, Kravitz was preparing to leave when her mother called her upstairs with a problem.
Bonet explained that while washing her face, she had set the snake down briefly, and it had found a small hole in the corner of Swift’s bathroom.
Kravitz described removing drawers from a built-in banquette as the snake moved further out of reach. She called the house manager, who arrived with a crowbar to dismantle part of the structure in an effort to retrieve the animal.
“We’re ripping up the tile, we’re scratching the walls,” Kravitz told Meyers. “We completely destroyed Taylor’s bathroom.” She said she offered to pay for the repairs and suggested not telling Swift until the damage was fixed.
However, when she called Swift, the singer already knew, asking, “Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in the house and destroyed my bathroom?”
Kravitz and Swift have been friends since 2020, having spent time together in London during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kravitz also attended one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in London in 2024.
