Yanin Campos, former MasterChef México contestant and TikTok personality, has died at the age of 38 following a tragic car accident in her hometown of Chihuahua, Mexico. The incident occurred early Saturday morning, August 2, along the Francisco R. Almada highway, according to local reports.

Campos was reportedly driving a black GMC Terrain when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a stationary car. The severe collision left her SUV heavily damaged, with photos of the wreckage circulating online. Emergency responders transported her to Hospital del Parque, where she was admitted to the ICU in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, Campos succumbed to her injuries on Monday, August 4.

Her brother, Raúl Campo, confirmed the news on social media, writing, “To our family and friends, we inform you and mourn the passing of my sister, Yanin Campos.” He also shared details about her wake, which is being held at Hernández Funeral Home.

Campos gained national recognition in 2018 when she appeared on MasterChef México, finishing in sixth place. She returned in 2019 for MasterChef: La Revancha, further cementing her presence in the culinary scene. Beyond television, Campos built a strong following on TikTok, where she shared recipes and lifestyle content with nearly 100,000 followers.

Fans have been leaving tributes on her social media pages, mourning her sudden passing. One follower wrote, “Thank you for your passion in cooking and for such good chapters in MasterChef. Fly high!” Another commented, “So young and beautiful… it certainly hurts to think that a 38-year-old woman left like that.”

Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.

Campos’s final Instagram post, shared in April 2023, featured her in London, captioned simply: “Taking a stroll.”
