Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, has said that the greatest disability is that instead of freedom, accepting slavery - along with greed, hatred, dishonesty, and corruption.
"Allah Almighty not only created human beings free but also gave them the ability and strength to live freely," he said, adding, "Congratulations to all of you on this month of independence - most of you here are descendants of those who gave two million lives for the creation of this country."
He noted that three universities have been established in Karachi, while Hyderabad saw the opening of its first university in 77 years. "We plan to bring more universities to this city. Education is a right for all, but first and foremost, it belongs to those because of whom we are free today - those because of whom Pakistan exists."
Dr Siddiqui made these remarks while addressing a conference titled "The Role of Professionals and Social Workers for Persons with Disabilities", organised by the Department of Social Work at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium, University of Karachi.
