ISLAMABAD:

The NDMA on Friday warned of continuing high flood threats in various rivers and streams.

Minor flooding is expected at Tarbela, Chashma, Taunsa, and Kalabagh, while moderate flood levels may occur at Head Marala and Guddu on the Chenab River. The body cautioned that the monsoon may intensify further towards the end of August.

Meanwhile, water flows in the Jhelum, Ravi and Sutlej rivers remained at normal levels. Streams and tributaries connected to the hill torrents and major rivers were also currently flowing at normal discharge.

A low flood situation was also reported at the Basantar stream near Narowal.

Water levels at Tarbela and Mangla dams have reached 88% and 58% of their respective capacities, while Indian dams were reported to be at 43% capacity.
