KARACHI:

Another free-will couple met horrific end. They were not young and heedless persons, rather individuals in their 40s, even then the tribal mindset did not allow them to live.

Bodies of 45-year-old Abdul Majeed, his 40-year-old wife Sakina, and their six-year-old son Abdul Nabi were found inside a house near Ghaghar Phatak in Bamboo Goth. The victims were brutally murdered with blows of axes. Upon receiving the information, police and rescue teams reached the scene, where a large number of local residents had also gathered.

The family hailed from the Lasbela district of Balochistan. According to Steel Town SHO Aslam Baloch, the victims were murdered late at night inside their home using an axe.

The SHO stated that the murder appears to be linked to the couple's love marriage. It is believed that they married of their own choice around 7-8 years ago and had been living in the house for the past 8 months. Abdul Majeed was a daily-wage laborer.

According to the SHO, Sakina's brother and other suspects are involved in the gruesome triple murder. Reportedly, the brother informed Abdul Majeed's family that he had killed the couple along with their innocent child and told them to collect the bodies for burial.

Probe widens in couple's execution

Police have detained 11 people, including the brother of a slain woman from Gujranwala, as part of an ongoing investigation into the mysterious deaths of a young couple found near China Port in Clifton Block 2.

Sana Asif daughter of Muhammad Asif and Sajid Masih son of Arif Masih son were found dead at a desolate place, each executed with a single 9mm bullet to the head. One of those in custody is Waqas Asif, Sana's brother. According to investigators, Waqas has no recorded travel history to Karachi, although a close friend of his does. Police have also taken some members of that friend's family into custody for questioning.

The woman's family has now been formally included in the investigation, officials confirmed. Interrogations are currently underway to ascertain possible motives.

Separately, Arif Masih has submitted a written application naming five people he believes were involved in his son's murder. Police said those named will be formally included in the case following due process.
