Former Punjab law minister and senior PTI leader Raja Basharat was arrested and later released by the police. He had gone to appear before an election tribunal, when New Town Police arrested him in connection with the November 26 PTI protest case.
His lawyer, Advocate Sardar Abdul Razzaq, informed the police that interim bails had already been granted to Basharat in all related cases.
However, the police insisted that they had arrest orders.
Later, a group of lawyers arrived at the New Town Police Station, where they presented bail documents and surety papers for all the relevant cases.
