Two newborn twin girls were found abandoned in Basti Baba Fareed Mohammadpur, on the outskirts of Sahiwal.
The newborns were reportedly left by unidentified individuals near a roadside and discovered shortly afterward.
Rescue 1122 and local police responded immediately after receiving a call about the abandoned infants. The twins, estimated to be just one hour old at the time of discovery, were transferred to the DHQ Teaching Hospital Sahiwal for medical evaluation and initial treatment.
Rescue 1122 officials also notified the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB).
The CPWB Chairperson Sarah Ahmad instructed the Sahiwal regional team to take the infants into protective custody.
Ahmad confirmed that the babies will be transferred to the bureau's central facility in Lahore, where they will receive full-time care.
