The 43-year-old pop icon shared the post on Sunday, writing, “I adopted a beautiful baby girl 😉😉😉 !!! Her name is Lennon London Spears 🤪🤪🤪,” while dancing in a pink monokini and boots. She added that the child was wearing a dress with the words “I’m NEW HERE !!!” Though Spears turned off comments on the post, reactions on other platforms suggest many fans believe she was joking.
Sources cited by TMZ later confirmed that Spears did not adopt a child — or even a pet — and was simply “having fun” online, as suggested by the use of winking and silly-faced emojis. The post comes after a similar claim in December 2023 when Spears said she was moving to Mexico, a statement that also proved false.
