Lamar Odom responds to Khloé Kardashian’s claims about saving his life
Lamar Odom says faith saved him, not Khloé Kardashian, as he revisits his 2015 overdose recovery story

Lamar Odom has responded to long-standing claims about Khloé Kardashian’s role in his recovery following his near-fatal overdose in 2015.
The incident, revisited in Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, details Odom’s hospitalization after he suffered multiple strokes and heart attacks at a Nevada brothel. The documentary highlights Kardashian’s presence during his recovery, portraying her as a key figure who supported him throughout his four-month stay in the hospital.
However, during a recent appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Odom offered a different perspective. When asked whether Kardashian saved his life, he credited his survival primarily to his faith. “God saved my life,” Odom said, while acknowledging that Kardashian did take care of him during his recovery.
Odom also disputed claims made in the documentary regarding his father, Joe Odom. Kardashian previously alleged that Joe Odom had urged doctors to remove life support while Odom was in a coma. The former athlete rejected that account, stating that such actions would be out of character for his father, whom he described as his “biggest fan.”
Kardashian had recalled intervening in the situation, claiming she convinced Joe Odom to back down. Odom, however, suggested there may have been a misunderstanding surrounding those events.
The differing accounts have reignited public interest in Odom’s recovery and the role those closest to him played during the crisis, highlighting contrasting perspectives on one of the most critical moments of his life.
