Gas supply to KESC power plant suspended
Sui Southern Gas says it had forewarned KESC about gas shortage.
KARACHI:
The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) on Monday said gas supply to one of its power plants had been suspended, Express 24/7 reported.
A KESC spokesperson said that the valves of the pipeline supplying gas to the Korangi Combined Cycle Power Plant had been closed.
The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has responded by saying it had forewarned the KESC about impending gas shortage.
The suspension of gas supply has created a power shortage of 220 megawatts in Karachi. More than 200 feeders have been affected.
The KESC has also announced that load shedding duration for industrial and domestic consumers will be increased by up to 10 hours.
