A man was hospitalised with multiple stab wounds after a confrontation over Pokémon trading cards at a GameStop store in Colma, California.
Colma police reported that the incident occurred at around 9:20 am on July 5 at the GameStop on Junipero Serra Boulevard. Officers arrived at the scene to find a man with multiple stab wounds and lacerations.
According to police, the altercation began when 49-year-old Miguel Orellanas-Flores attempted to cut in line to buy Pokémon cards.
An argument broke out with the victim, which soon became physical. Police stated that Orellanas-Flores struck the victim on the back of the head with a glass mason jar.
The situation escalated further when a second suspect, 27-year-old Isaiah Calles, allegedly picked up the broken glass and stabbed the victim multiple times.
Both suspects fled the scene in separate vehicles, but the victim was able to take photos of their cars and licence plates before they left.
Police eventually tracked down Orellanas-Flores and Calles, both residents of San Francisco, and arrested them on multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy. They are currently being held in San Mateo County Jail.
The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later reported to be in stable condition.
