Elderly woman murdered

The matter had previously been settled by local elders.

JARANWALA:

An elderly woman was murdered in Chak No. 89 GB Ratna after confronting suspects who had repeatedly stolen from her home. According to police, the attackers fled the scene after stabbing the victim. Police took possession of her body and handed over to the heirs after completing legal formalities. A case has been registered.

Ansar Abbas, a resident of the same area, told police that the suspects, Ali Raza and Tauseef Raza, had stolen household items from his home multiple times. The matter had previously been settled by local elders.

However, in apparent retaliation, the suspects allegedly climbed over the boundary wall of the house late at night and attacked her 75-year-old mother, Naziran Bibi, while she was sleeping in the veranda.

Hearing her cries, Altaf Hussain, son and another family member, rushed to the scene and attempted to catch the attackers, but they managed to escape. He then took his injured mother to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
