KBBA unveils three-month program

Sindh Basketball Association meeting set for July 1

In consultation with Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) President Advocate Ghulam Abbas Jamal, Secretary Zahid Malik has announced an action-packed three-month basketball program. According to the schedule, the Summer Coaching Camps for Boys and Girls will conclude with a ceremony on July 15, which will also mark the inauguration of the Inter-Clubs Tournament.

On August 13, special Independence Day Exhibition Matches for both girls and boys will be held.

From August 16-28, the Mehmood Laghari and Asif Azeem Inter-Clubs Tournament for girls and boys will take place. On September 6, Pakistan Martyrs Day will be observed with night matches for both genders.

This will be followed by the 2nd Shaheed Hakim Mohammad Saeed Basketball Tournament, scheduled from September 9-20, again featuring both girls and boys teams.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Basketball Association (SBBA) has called for a general body meeting on July 1 at a local hotel, announced SBBA Secretary Tariq Hussain.

Written invitations have been issued to all members. The meeting will address a single-point agenda: preparations for the upcoming elections scheduled for July 12. Tariq Hussain also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Sindh for sponsoring one Inter-Clubs Tournament in each division of the province. These events will commence on August 14, commemorating Pakistan's Independence Day.

It may be mentioned here that the six-year suspension on SBBA, imposed by the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBF), has finally come to an end.

It is worth noting that six years ago, following the SOA elections, the Sindh Olympic Association (SOA), on PBF's directives, suspended the SBBA. Since then, there have been no basketball related activities in Sindh, nor has the province had any representation in PBF meetings.
