ISLAMABAD:

The country's newly formed cybercrimes watchdog has formed a special committee to ensure surveillance of social media platforms to suppress hate speech and sectarian content during the holy month of Muharram.

On the instruction of the country's top security czar, Mohsin Naqvi, the director general of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) — has formed an 18-member committee.

According to a notification issued by NCCIA Director General Waqaruddin Syed, the committee will be led by an additional director, Ayaz Khan, while it will be convened by a deputy director, Akram Mughal.
