Chances of isolated showers in suburbs
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in Karachi today (Monday) and on Tuesday. The forecast also includes the possibility of dust storms during this period.
According to the Early Warning Centre, rain is expected in some suburban and isolated areas of the city, while Sunday was mostly warm and humid. A westerly wave is currently affecting upper parts of the country, while moist currents are penetrating into the eastern parts of Sindh.
Under its influence, districts including Ghotki, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Qambar Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, and Shaheed Benazirabad may witness light to moderate rain with thunder. Rainfall is also expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Matiari, Thatta, Sajawal, and Badin districts until June 17. During this period, the weather is likely to remain hot, humid, and partially cloudy across Sindh. The maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to range between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels could reach up to 80 per cent in the morning and around 55 per cent by evening.
