The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued an early weather warning, forecasting rain and thunderstorms in Karachi and other parts of Sindh on Monday and Tuesday.

According to the Met Office, certain suburban areas of Karachi may receive showers accompanied by thunder on Monday night or Tuesday. Gusty winds are also expected during rainfall in peripheral areas on Tuesday.

The department said a westerly weather system is affecting the upper regions of the country, while moisture-laden winds are entering eastern parts of Sindh.

Under its influence, scattered light to moderate rain with thunder is likely in districts including Ghotki, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Qambar Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Tharparkar.

Between 16 and 17 June, rainfall is also expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Matiari, Thatta, Sujawal, and Badin.

Meanwhile, the weather in Karachi is expected to remain hot and humid with partly cloudy skies over the next three days.

The maximum temperature may range between 36°C and 38°C. Humidity levels may reach up to 80% in the morning and 55% in the evening.

On the other hand, PMD said a westerly weather system will continue affecting the country through Monday.

While most of Punjab will remain hot and dry, isolated areas including Murree, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan may see dust storms and thundershowers. Scattered rain is also expected in Kashmir.
