
A police officer and two civilians have been arrested and jailed for allegedly robbing a citizen at gunpoint.
The officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Qaiser Abbas, along with his accomplices Rafiq and Rasheed, is accused of forcibly snatching Rs 175,000 from the victim at gunpoint.
According to police sources, the victim filed a formal complaint with City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ayaz Saleem, stating that ASI Abbas and two unidentified men intercepted and robbed him.
Upon receiving the complaint, the CPO ordered swift legal action. A case has been registered against the ASI of Kot Ladha police station and two private individuals. The case includes charges of armed robbery and misuse of official authority.
CPO Saleem stated that the police uniform is a symbol of integrity and public trust and warned that those who tarnish the reputation of the police force will be held accountable.
